How to Apply for JoSAA Round 2, 2025

If you didn’t secure a seat in JoSAA Round 1 or are hoping for an upgrade, JoSAA Round 2 is your golden opportunity. The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) manages admissions to IITs, NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs through multiple rounds. Round 2 is a critical phase where thousands of students either get their first seat or improve upon their earlier allotment. In this post, we’ll walk you through the complete process to apply for JoSAA Round 2, 2025, including important dates, required documents, and key actions you need to take to secure your dream seat.

On June 21:

  • Login and check Round 2 seat allotment result using your credentials 

  • If allotted a seat, choose one of the following options:

    • Freeze: Accept current seat, exit further rounds

    • Float: Accept but stay eligible for upgrades

    • Slide: Accept institute but upgrade within

    • Withdraw: Decline and exit the process 

  • Pay Seat Acceptance Fee and upload documents between June 21–25.


5. Document Upload & Fee Payment

  • Important: Upload essential documents (Class X/XII marksheets, JEE scorecard, category certificate, PwD certificate, etc.) and pay the required fee online 

  • Failure to do so by June 25 may result in seat cancellation.
